Many challenges and issues arise for people new to Australia. There are the usual problems and situations that all people face during their lives, such as employment, housing, health services and schooling. This is made more difficult for immigrants as they are also faced with a new and unfamiliar social and legal system.

These difficulties are compounded for CALD people due to various factors such as English being their second language and by coming from a background with cultural differences. Some CALD people will be from countries where their safety was threatened and will have experienced extreme situations involving violence or persecution.

Below is a list of resources and services to support CALD people in settling into life in Australia.
