One in five Australian adults are affected by a mental health problem.
The Institute offers many different programs to educate and support people to understand mental illness and to maintain mental health. Central to our understanding is the idea that relationships, belonging and participation are fundamental to a person’s wellbeing. These, along with specific knowledge and skills, enhance resilience.
Currently the Institute offers two programs to organisations and community groups.
Mental Health First Aid – a program designed to help communities better understand and cope more effectively with mental illness in order to create more support for those directly affected by mental illness.
ArtThink – a program designed specifically for CALD and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It brings forth education and skills that increase the ability of families and community members to respond effectively to mental illness.
The Institute also offers a range of courses addressing mental health through the
Relationships Australia (SA) Course Brochure.
