The Garden Program: Training the Facilitator

The Garden Group Program was originally developed for parents and their infant or toddler (ages 0 – 4). It is now available for practitioner led, single parent and their infant or toddler through The Garden 8 week Dyad Program.

The Garden Programs provide an opportunity for parents to share positive experiences with their infant. These programs support parents to develop their relationship with their child through playful attachment and attunement activities. Based on a strong theoretical background, The Garden Programs use themes and activities to explore the natural environment through art, shared sensory activities, movement, play, relaxation and reflective opportunities.

In this two day training you will learn how to facilitate The Garden Group Program as well as how to apply The Garden Dyad Program. You will be provided with tips and advice on how to run these intentional therapeutic child-led programs successfully. The training includes time to practice the exercises and to familiarise yourself with the sessions.

This training is suitable for frontline and specialist worker in homelessness and Family and Domestic Violence Services as well as therapeutic children’s workers, reunification and intensive family support practitioners.
