|About||There are many forms of grief and loss, and how we express our grief differs from person to person. In this training we will explore typical responses to grief, as well as different types of grief and how these may affect an individual.|
Learn how to engage empathically with people who are living with loss, know what to say and how to listen, as well as how to provide support to grieving individuals and identify potential for healing and growth. Additionally, we will examine differences in grieving, and how to assist. Discover how to counsel a grieving person and what strategies can lessen the burden of grief.
Learn how to identify and refer individuals to appropriate grief and bereavement care services and resources, and understand warning signs, risk factors and prevention strategies. For the counsellor, we also identify appropriate self-care resources and how to access suitable supervision and debriefing.
This course provides a basis for understanding and working with grief, as a counsellor or in any other capacity where such an understanding is required.
