Course Overview

This interactive online program has been developed by the Intercountry Adoptee and Family Support Service and AISR.

Connected Parenting is a contemporary parenting approach informed by various parenting models and influenced by theorists and leaders in child development, attachment, trauma and neuroscience.

The approach is informed by those with lived experience of adoptions including adoptees and adoptive parents, people who have experienced trauma, and those who have experienced alternative care.

This course equips adoptive parents with the knowledge and practical skills to better understand their child’s needs, be culturally responsive, and provide meaningful and supportive care.

We encourage everyone working with children and families impacted by adoption to complete the Connected Parenting course.
