CHC52015 Diploma in Community Services

This qualification reflects the roles of community services workers involved in managing, coordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.

At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management, program coordination or the development of new service and program opportunities.

CHC40413 Certificate IV in Youth Work

This program is designed to support your learning and attainment of skills to develop, facilitate and co-ordinate projects for young people in a range of community based settings designed to address the social, behavioural, welfare, health, developmental and protection needs of young people.

Work placements for our Certificate IV in Youth Work students are available with Future Youth Initiative at Relationships Australia SA. A current child-related employment screening from DCSI (within the last 12 months) and completion of the RAN DECD training is required before commencing work placement.

Community Services career pathways include:

  • support worker
  • case worker
  • client contact officer
  • or community development worker in either a paid or voluntary capacity.

CHC43315 Certificate IV in Mental Health

This qualification reflects the role of workers who provide self-directed recovery oriented support for people affected by mental illness and psychiatric disability.  It is suitable for those who are seeking to develop specialist skills to work with clients who face challenges with their mental health, including those who have some work or volunteer experience in community services or health and want to branch out into mental health work.

The course will examine the link between mental health and other personal and community issues, as well as exploring mental health in the community and in the work place. A focus on working with families dealing with mental health issues is also covered.

A structured workplace learning component is included to deliver practical skills.
