Graduations at the Institute

It’s graduation season here at the Institute! More than 50 people have completed their qualifications in recent months, with 10 attending the Institute’s first official graduation ceremony on 29 October…

Paul Herbig, VET Coordinator at the Australian Institute of Social Relations, said it was great to formally celebrate the achievement with students.

“In the past we haven’t held a formal graduation for students,” Paul said, “but we’ve received an overwhelmingly positive response and now plan to hold graduation ceremonies twice a year.”

The Institute has also held informal graduation ceremonies for students at Parlour Hair and Relationships Australia Northern Territory, as well as on-site graduations at Northern Carers Network and Novita Children’s Services.

“We’ve had a really diverse group of students come through the qualifications this year and to see how they’ve grown and developed a passion for the industry is really rewarding,” Paul said.

“Since completing their qualifications, many of the students have gone on to secure paid employment or placement with a community services organisation, or have decided to continue with further study, which is a fantastic result.”
