‘Traffic Jam’ officially launches today
Today our Certificate III in Community Services who are undertaking part-time traineeships officially launched ‘Traffic Jam’ at the City of Salisbury offices on James Street, Salisbury.
‘Traffic Jam’ will produce jams and chutneys and will be available in the new year to buy.
City of Salisbury Counsellor Betty Gill was part of the official proceedings and commented on how wonderful it was see the young people working on such a great idea.
Two young people spoke about their involvement with ‘Traffic Jam’ saying that they felt an immense of sense of ownership of the idea.
The young people cooked up a BBQ and gave away sausages with the opportunity to try their spicy apple chutney. The chutney was well-received. If the students were able to sell their products today, it would have been a sell-out!
The young people have been able to develop a breadth of important entrepreneurial skills. It was great to see all of the students so hands-on using their skills from setting-up the event, promoting the event, cooking the sausages to customer service.
‘Traffic Jam’ is operating under the name of Community Networks. Twelve25 Salisbury Youth Enterprise at the City of Salisbury are the host employer of the group.
For more information about ‘Traffic Jam’ and how to purchase the produce, please contact Paul Herbig on 8245 8100.
